Lisbon
The departure port of the ships that gave “new worlds to the world”, in the 15th and 16th centuries, Lisbon is one of the finest European capitals. Located on the right bank of Tagus River, Lisbon is a modern and dynamic city that has not forgotten its roots, as it is proved by the monuments and buildings which represent a true kaleidoscope of architectonical styles.
Lisbon hosts the headquarters of several European Union institutions, as well as the headquarters of the Community of Portuguese-speaking Countries – CPLP – a geographic, economical and cultural space that spreads through 4 continents and encompasses about 230 million people.
Lisbon is an economic centre of the greatest importance – recent studies place it between the 20 best European cities to do business and one of the finest places to host international conferences.
