...Lisbon
By land
Road
- North - the A1 (Northern Motorway) is the main connection with northern Portugal and Galicia. Alternatively, you may use the A8 (Western Motorway).
- East - the A6 establishes the connection between the Spanish Extremadura region (Elvas-Caia border) and the Portuguese capital.
- South - the A2 (Southern Motorway) is the main connection with Alentejo and Algarve. The access to Lisbon is made through the April 25th Bridge (Ponte 25 de Abril). Alternatively, you can enter the city using the A12, through the Vasco da Gama Bridge (Ponte Vasco da Gama).
Train
Several trains arrive daily at Lisbon, mainly to Santa Apolónia (Estação de Santa Apolónia) and Oriente (Gare do Oriente) Train Stations, the city's main train terminals. The Portuguese railroads are run by CP - Comboios de Portugal. The Inter-Cidades service connects the majority of the Portuguese cities. The Alfa Pendular (Braga-Porto-Coimbra-Lisboa) and the InterCity (Faro-Lisboa) services take approximately 3 hours to get to Lisbon. There are also international trains arriving from Madrid (approx. 10 hours) and Paris (approx. 18 hours).
By sea
The Port of Lisbon (Porto de Lisboa) is the most active port in Europe's Atlantic Coast. It has 3 harbours for cruise ships: Alcântara, Rocha do Conde de Óbidos and Santa Apolónia. Lisbon has also marinas for recreational boats in Belém, Santo Amaro, Bom Sucesso, Alcântara and Olivais harbours.
By air
The Lisbon Airport (Aeroporto de Lisboa), located about 7 kilometres north of the city, has several daily flights to and from most of the world's biggest cities. These services are guaranteed by the national airlines TAP Portugal and PGA - Portugália Airlines, as well as by the main international airlines. Exit at Rua da Junqueira/Centro de Congressos (last stop for line 56).
Metro
Use the green line (Telheiras - Cais do Sodré) and exit at the last station - interface with bus/tram lines 15E, 714 and 732.
